Milestones

Prior to turning in your vehicle, you will have to complete some simple procedures. So you’ll know what to expect, we’ve created a personal timeline to notify you of important dates and events. Begin by selecting your lease maturity date in the calendar above. To find your date, refer to the letter that was included within the package recently mailed to you from BMW Financial Services.

Lease Maturity Call

Approximately 180–120 days before your lease matures, you can expect a call from your BMW Retailer as a reminder that your lease maturity date is approaching. Take this opportunity to come into your BMW Retailer for a pre-inspection and to let them know if you are looking to keep your current BMW or if you are interested in a new one.

Inspection Call

Approximately 75 days before your lease expires, you can expect a call from our preferred inspection company, AutoVIN Canada, to arrange an appointment for a brief vehicle inspection. The inspection can be completed anywhere you choose, including your home or office.

Vehicle Inspection

After AutoVIN Canada evaluates the condition of your BMW, a Vehicle Inspection Report will be available online within 48 hours of the physical inspection, outlining the condition of your vehicle. If your vehicle requires any repairs or maintenance, you are strongly encouraged to have the work completed prior to the vehicle turn-in date. To ensure all repairs or maintenance are completed properly, please visit your authorized BMW Retailer.

Please note that if you have purchased BMW Financial Services Excess Wear & Use Protection with your BMW vehicle, this process has been simplified for you. Upon completion of your vehicle inspection by AutoVIN Canada, please contact one of our Lease Maturity Specialists at 1-800-300-0269 to see if any chargeable items will be taken care of by your Excess Wear & Use Protection coverage.

Returning Your Vehicle

Your BMW vehicle must be returned to your BMW Retailer before or on the lease maturity date. Please schedule your appointment with your Retailer in advance to review your vehicle’s condition and confirm all necessary maintenance and/or repairs have been made. Please ensure that both sets of keys, owner’s manual, vehicle accessories (as applicable) and original copy of ownership (Province of Alberta only) are returned with the vehicle, as required. Once confirmed, you and your Retailer will sign a Vehicle Return Confirmation Form to complete the vehicle turn-in process. You may also settle any applicable excess wear and use charges at this time.

REMINDER: Please ensure that you take the time to delete all of your personal information from the iDrive system of your BMW (if applicable) prior to vehicle turn-in. Click here to view a PDF document containing step-by- step instructions on how to perform this important task.

Wear and Use

There are some limitations to the acceptable wear and use of your BMW. Any damage that is deemed excessive is considered chargeable. To determine your vehicle’s condition, you have been mailed a BMW Financial Services Vehicle Condition Evaluator that will help you check for acceptable wear and use. Our interactive guide will also show you what to look for.
