LEASE MATURITY STEP-BY-STEP

As you are approaching the maturity date of your current lease, BMW Financial Services would like to remind you of the important steps involved in our lease maturity process. Whether you want to continue to enjoy The Ultimate Driving Experience® of your current BMW, or dream of exploring the open road in something different, we’re here to help guide you through every turn.

If you do not remember your lease maturity date, please visit My BMW Account to view your contract details, or contact one of our Lease Maturity Specialists by calling 1-800-300-0269 at your convenience in order to obtain this information directly.

 

Lease Maturity Call

Between 120-180 days before your lease matures, you can expect a call from your BMW Retailer as a reminder that your lease maturity date is approaching. Take this opportunity to come into your BMW Retailer for a pre-inspection and to let them know if you are looking to keep your current BMW or if you are interested in a new BMW.

Inspection Call

Approximately 75 days before your lease expires, you can expect a call from AutoVIN Canada, an independent inspection company, to arrange an appointment for a mandatory vehicle inspection. The inspection can be completed at a time and location which is convenient for you (e.g. your home or office).

Vehicle Inspection

After AutoVIN Canada evaluates the condition of your BMW, a Vehicle Inspection Report will be available online usually within 48 hours of the physical inspection, outlining the condition of your vehicle. If your vehicle requires any repairs or maintenance, you are strongly encouraged to have the work completed prior to the vehicle turn-in date to avoid additional charges. To ensure all repairs or maintenance are completed properly, please visit your authorized BMW Retailer.

Please note that if you have purchased BMW Financial Services Excess Wear & Use Protection with your BMW vehicle, this process has been simplified for you. Upon completion of your vehicle inspection by AutoVIN Canada, please contact one of our Lease Maturity Specialists at 1-800-300-0269 to verify if any chargeable items are covered by your Excess Wear & Use Protection plan.

Returning Your Vehicle

Your BMW vehicle must be returned to an Authorized BMW Retailer before or on the lease maturity date. Please schedule your appointment with your Retailer in advance to review your vehicle’s condition and confirm all necessary maintenance and/or repairs have been made. Please ensure that both sets of keys, owner’s manual, matching BMW approved non-winter tires and rims, BMW approved windshield with a BMW logo displayed on the glass, vehicle accessories (as applicable) and original copy of ownership (Province of Alberta only) are returned with the vehicle, as required. Once confirmed, you and your Retailer will sign a Vehicle Return Confirmation Form to complete the vehicle turn-in process. You may also settle any applicable lease-end charges with your Retailer at this time.

REMINDER: Please ensure that you take the time to delete all of your personal information from the iDrive system of your BMW (if applicable) prior to vehicle turn-in.

EVALUATING YOUR VEHICLE

Excess Wear & Use Protection

If you purchased BMW Financial Services Excess Wear & Use Protection, you will be protected from certain damages that would otherwise be chargeable. SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

As per your Lease Agreement, the vehicle must be maintained and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations as stated in the Owner's Manual and as per the scheduled maintenance required and as indicated by the vehicle’s onboard maintenance system. If your vehicle is not properly maintained and serviced, it could result in damage to the vehicle and additional charges to you at the conclusion of your lease. If you service your vehicle at a non-authorized service centre, please ensure you keep all invoices for warranty purposes and as proof of maintenance.

Vehicle Condition Evaluator

The BMW Financial Services Vehicle Condition Evaluator makes determining your vehicle’s current condition easy. It is the same Evaluator Tool used by your BMW Retailer and the AutoVIN Inspector to check for tire tread depth, dents, scratches, windshield cracks, etc. Order your tool today so you can use it to evaluate acceptable wear and use on your vehicle in order to determine any chargeable damages.
